Before I begin to delve into the advertisement presented, I should note that this advertisement was shown in the 1970’s. This advertisement is riddled with logos, pathos, and ethos. The first thing that jumps out from the image is the image of the women. The picture appeals to the emotion by using pathos. Obviously, this is appealing to any women who is wanting a slim body to feel beautiful. This advertisement also uses logos with the statement stated in the image. The author uses the fact of the caloric amount of the Pepsi to indicate that by drinking Diet Pepsi, women can either lose weight or maintain weight to maintain slim and beautiful. The author shows ethos indirectly. This is apparent because the author is trustworthy since he knows the correct caloric amount of Diet Pepsi and seems like he knows what he is talking about since he is showing in big bold words that he can help.
